Few names in the automotive world carry as much weight as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the 2026 model year gives this legendary SUV its most exciting refresh in years. It comes with a bold new engine, a streamlined trim lineup, updated styling, and a suite of technology features that raise the bar for the segment. The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee is ready to win over a whole new generation of drivers.

2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overview

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee is refreshed with an updated look inside and out, new technology, and a gutsy 324-hp turbo-4 engine standard on all but the base Laredo. A new front fascia, a new grille, and redesigned LED headlamps give the SUV a bold new look. Available hands-free power liftgate and premium materials lining the dash and seats bring convenience and comfort to everyday adventures.

Three new exterior paint colors join the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee palette: Fathom Blue, Steel Blue, and Copper Shino. The 2026 Grand Cherokee comes in either a standard two-row model that seats five passengers or the longer, roomier three-row Grand Cherokee L that seats seven passengers.

Powerful Performance

The 2026 model introduces the new 2.0L Hurricane 4 Turbo engine, featuring Turbulent Jet Ignition. Jeep describes it as motorsport-proven combustion technology that enhances power and boosts efficiency, making it the industry’s first high-volume application of this technology. The Hurricane four-cylinder model makes 324 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. This means that for its size, it is more powerful than some highly tuned engines from Mercedes-AMG, and liter for liter, it has 26% more power than Stellantis’ old Hellcat Redeye V8.

The entry-level 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee models still use the durable, long-running 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that has served since 2011. It makes 293 horsepower and 257 pound-feet of torque, and like all Grand Cherokees, it mates to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Selec-Terrain Traction Management System lets drivers switch between five specialized four-wheel-drive modes. An available Quadra-Lift Air Suspension System automatically lowers the vehicle for improved highway aerodynamics or raises it to clear off-road obstacles.

MPG

According to the EPA, the rear-wheel-drive, four-cylinder 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee returns 21 mpg city, 27 highway, and 23 mpg combined. The rear-drive V6 gets 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 22 combined. Looking at the 2.0L Hurricane 4 Turbo engine, it delivers a best-in-class driving range of 529 miles.

0-60 MPH

The V6 engine gives the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee enough oomph to scoot from 0-60 mph in about 8 seconds. Looking at the turbocharged 2.0-liter Hurricane four-cylinder, with its 324 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, makes for considerably brisker acceleration at around 5.4 seconds. The Hurricane four-cylinder’s significant torque advantage over the V6 means it delivers more responsive passing power and better highway confidence.

Freshly Designed Interior

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee features 16-way power-adjustable front seats with available memory presets and a massage mode. It’s available with multicolor ambient LED lighting for all trims so you can adjust the interior glow to suit your mood. New available interior accents include teak and satin chrome accents on the Limited and piano black HVAC tracers on Summit models.

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers up to 70.8 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded. Available premium Nappa leather seating surfaces bring a genuine luxury feel to upper trims. The top-trim Summit adds Palermo leather, a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, 21-inch wheels, and Quadra-Drive II with an adjustable-height air suspension.

Massive Tech.

A massive new 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 NAV touchscreen serves as the centerpiece of the 2026 Grand Cherokee technology suite. Newly standard features include navigation, a trial SiriusXM membership, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The Summit trim’s available premium audio system by McIntosh includes a 17-channel amplifier delivering up to 950 watts of power through 19 custom-designed speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer.

An available Class-Exclusive Front Passenger Interactive Touchscreen Display features a QLED screen that lets the front passenger send route updates to the central touchscreen. Notable is the available interior FamCAM which gives you a clear view of the second and third rows.

Top Safety Pick

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee is expected to carry over as a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and earn a 5-Star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Base Laredo trims include standard automatic emergency braking, active lane management, rear park assist, blind spot warning, and rear cross-traffic warning.

The available Hands-Free Active Driving Assist combines sensor data and speed control to allow you to remove your hands from the wheel while keeping your eyes on the road. Not to mention the system monitors driver attentiveness, issuing visual and audible alerts if it detects distraction or fatigue. For nighttime driving, the available night vision camera scans ahead using infrared sensors to spot pedestrians or animals well before headlights can reach them.

Price of the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a starting sticker price of around $40,000, with the range-topping Summit kicking off at $62,190. That spread gives buyers a wide range of entry points.
