Jeep Recon is Here
The 2026 Jeep Recon debuts as the first and only fully electric Trail Rated SUV in the industry, marking a significant expansion of Jeep's electrified lineup. Built on Stellantis' STLA-Large platform, the Jeep Recon sits alongside the Wrangler rather than replacing it. It targets adventure enthusiasts who want legendary off-road capability without emissions. The Jeep Recon features removable doors and an available power-folding roof, offering open-air freedom similar to the Wrangler and Ford Bronco.
Enhance The Adventure
The Jeep Recon exterior combines classic Jeep styling elements with modern electric vehicle design. It draws inspiration from both the iconic Wrangler and the 1980s Cherokee XJ. The SUV features a unique face with square headlights and seven illuminated slots forming a faux grille. The boxy proportions and upright stance provide exceptional packaging advantages, with the Recon measuring approximately five inches longer and an inch wider than the four-door Wrangler. The swing gate holds a full-size rear-mounted spare tire, a segment-exclusive feature among electric SUVs. Jeep Recon color options range from vibrant hues like Hydro Blue and Red Hot to utility-inspired tones like '41 (an olive-green shade) and classic neutrals including Diamond Black and Bright White.
Ready For Anything
The Jeep Recon boxy body enables a spacious interior with appropriate legroom for every seat. Automatically, the interior is enhanced by the available Sky One-Touch retracting soft roof that provides convertible-like openness. The cabin prioritizes rugged utility with hard-wearing materials designed to handle dirt and outdoor adventures. Behind the second row, there's approximately 30.3 cubic feet of cargo space, expanding to 65.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Additionally, there’s a small front trunk for more storage. Practical features include door bins secured with removable fabric straps that allow customization with different cargo options like small coolers, a two-tier center console, and a modular accessory rail on the dashboard for mounting action cameras and navigation devices. The interior includes clever Jeep easter eggs. Such as embossed door removal instructions and an ant driving a classic Willys Jeep etched into the rear quarter glass frit (symbolizing the vehicle's ability to crawl over anything).
Fully Packed
The Jeep Recon features the largest touchscreen ever fitted to a Jeep at 14.5 inches, running the Uconnect 5 infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. A 12.3-inch digital gauge display provides driver information, while an 11-speaker Alpine premium audio system comes standard, strategically repositioned below the seats to maintain sound quality when doors are removed. Climate controls are accessible through the touchscreen, and wireless charging is available in the center console. Safety features include over 170 standard safety and security systems, including Rough Road Cruise Control, Pedestrian Emergency Braking, and Blind Spot Monitoring. The Jeep Recon also incorporates a 360-degree surround view camera system to assist with navigating tight trails and parking situations. Technology extends to off-road capability with the Selec-Terrain traction management system. This system features five distinct drive modes including Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand, and Rock.
Dig Deeper
The Jeep Recon delivers 650 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of instant torque from dual electric motors. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 3.6 seconds. Front and rear electric drive modules rated at 250 kilowatts each provide standard all-wheel drive with on-demand torque distribution. A 100.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack provides an estimated 230 miles of range for the Moab trim, with later models expected to achieve 250 miles. Off-road credentials include 9.1 inches of ground clearance, 33-inch Nexen Roadian all-terrain tires, and an electronic locking rear differential. The throttle has been specifically calibrated to manage the massive torque for controlled and precise inputs in off-road situations, enabling a two-pedal driving technique over challenging terrain. Additional off-road features include low-speed Selec-Speed Control for steep inclines and declines, the ability to wade through 24 inches of water with a sealed battery and electrical system, and high-strength steel underbody skid plates protecting critical components.
