The Drive for Design contest is an opportunity for high school students to learn about automotive design, career opportunities in automotive design and of course, win prizes. To help build publicity for this event, the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles North America hosted a Ram Sketch Battle through Facebook and Instagram, and 200 designs from all over the world were submitted, in which only 120 were eligible. The sketch battle was open to children of all ages and families from around the world and the entries were judged by Ralph Gilles and Mark Trostle, Two of FCA’S most important designers. The challenge was to create their “wickedest and most outrageous design for a Ram truck”. In order to be considered, the entries needed to have FCADriveForDesign.com somewhere on their canvas. From professional looking renderings to pencil sketches, the ideas and designs were endless and all very unique. Some design went more modern and futuristic, while others paid homage to vintage cars. The official Drive for Design contest is currently accepting submissions until May 1st 2020 for the ultimate RAM truck of the future. The contest is open to U.S. residents in grades 10-12 who are currently attending a U.S. high school. First place will win a Wacom MobileStudio Pro 16, while 2nd & 3rd will win an Apple iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. The top 3 contests will each win a three-day/two night stay in Michigan, exclusive winner’s dinner with the FCA design team, be a junior judge participant in the EyesOn Design Car Show, a behind-the-scenes visit to the FCA’s design Studios, and a scholarship to attend the College for Creative Studies Precollege Summer Experience Transportation Design Program. Lawton Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram donates to the New Directions Women's Shelter What a wonderful day it was delivering all of our donations from our Holiday Drive benefiting Marie Detty’s New Directions Women’s Shelter! Lawton Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram collected donations for Marie Detty's Lawton Women's Shelter from Monday, November 19th to Wednesday, December 19th. This local Lawton women's shelter is open 24 hours a day to house women and children that need emergency services such as food and clothing, safety planning, transportation in Lawton, domestic violence education, and more. Our dealership team loved being able to recognize all the good the shelter staff and volunteers do for women and children in our community by donating supplies such as diapers, laundry detergent, shampoo, soap, lotion, socks, hangers, and more toiletries. We filled up a whole truck bed full of gifts for the Marie Detty New Directions Women's Shelter! On Friday, December 21st, our General Manager had the pleasure of personally delivering the truck bed full of supplies and gifts to the residents and workers at the New Directions Women's Shelter. Lawton Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram loves to attend these events and help cook or serve in the kitchen or help by setting up alongside USO volunteers. If we’re not serving, we have the pleasure of sitting down to lunch with our local military men and women of Fort Sill. The food is always delicious, especially the mac & cheese from October 17 th when we visited! And of course, the company is unbelievable! It means so much to our team at Lawton Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram that we are welcome on base to serve and socialize with the service men and women, families, and workers of the Fort Sill Base. Our General Manager, Mr. Santiago made an appearance at the last Wednesday USO lunch break and even sat down for an interview with a reporter to discuss this partnership.
