FCA Celebrates 35 Years of Minivans
Unless you’re a parent trekking to and from soccer games to church to piano practice and back, you’re probably not a giant fan of minivans. A minivan isn’t stylish or designed to impress, it’s just a necessity for some families, yet slowly becoming rejected for spacious SUVs.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles does not want to see the minivan fade away, though, since they are the proud creators of the vehicle class that debuted back in 1984. In 2018, FCA sold over 270,000 minivans thanks to the Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Grand Caravan. FCA was the first to make a hybrid minivan, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, and families still love to give this van a test drive when they visit Lawton Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram.
2019 is the 35th Anniversary of the minivan class and FCA dealerships like Lawton Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram are ready to celebrate with the unveiling of the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica and 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan!
The original Pacifica rides with a 287-horsepower Pentastar V6 and nine-speed automatic transmission, while the Pacifica Hybrid offers up to 32 miles of electric driving range and 520 total miles thanks to its plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
Pacifica trims of Touring L, Touring L Plus, and Limited will be available 35th Anniversary style with liquid chrome Chrysler wing badges, gloss black trim on the front and rear, and an Anniversary badge. The black interior will have Cranberry Wine accent stitching on the Nappa leather seats, door panels, and steering wheel with the 35th Anniversary logo on the front floor mats. There’s also an S Appearance package that will make your family minivan edgier with a black grille, rear valance molding, and accents on the headlights, wheels, and badges.
The 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan comes with 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission and front wheel drive on all trims, along with standard auto-dimming rearview mirrors and FCAs second-row Stow ‘n Go seats that fold right into the floor.
The Dodge trims of SE and SXT will have the 35th Anniversary options of 17-inch silver aluminum wheels, Anniversary fender badges, and a bright grill with the same interior stitching and floor mats as the Pacifica trims. In addition, you’ll see a piano black console and gauge cluster accents on the Dodge Anniversary trims.
